Within us lives the womb, the sacred temple of creation, the original home to all human beings. The womb is the holding vessel of love, where growing and bonding takes place. The bond between mother and child is unwavering and eternal. There is no greater love. Your baby becomes comforted by your essence, the sound of your voice, the scent of your skin, the taste of your milk. As Aristotle said, human beings are “social animals” and therefore naturally seek the companionship of others as part of their well being. We need each other. This much, as we see in the modern world, is crystal clear. Loneliness is now one of the top predictors of early death…
Seek out community, family, and friends…not only in times of need and while raising children, but always. We were not meant to walk this path alone, mama. Give your community the gift of providing and being of service to you and your family. They may need it just as much as you.
Ask for help when you need it. Let your family love on your children while you go do something just for YOU. Call on aunty and uncle to come share in the honor and duty of raising your children. Kids should know more than parental authority and guidance…they should know, respect, and receive wisdom from elders across the tribe.
If your tribe is small or you are without a like minded and supportive tribe, then take action to be the catalyst. People around the world are craving connection, and they are opening to the paths of ancestral wisdom. Host a full moon party, or a neighborhood bonfire…connect with that one mother you have been seeing around at your kids’ events.
Take these Principles, one at a time, until you are living ancestrally as your default. Thriving, dancing, and rejoicing in the beauty and infinite wisdom of nature that created you, and that allowed you to create life. Celebrate you. You deserve it mama, and we’re proud of you.
